Learning and teaching
Summary
Learning and Teaching are at the heart of Parkhall Integrated College. The effectiveness of learning is directly related to the quality of teaching. Pupils and staff are supported in their learning and teaching by efficient and effective management arrangements under the control of the Principal and in collaboration with the Board of Governors. Each pupil and staff member is valued, with harmonious relationships and good morale across the school.
This policy sets out to summarise the expectations and common working practices agreed in respect of approach and consistency. Through the working of this policy the school aims to
- Provide a broad and relevant programme of learning based on the Northern Ireland Curriculum.
- Ensure that all pupils experience a high quality of teaching which leads to effective learning.
- Offer challenging, stimulating and enjoyable learning experiences which promote the motivation to learn
- Help pupils to take increasing responsibility for their own education, laying the foundations for lifelong learning.
- Encourage pupils to become confident, resourceful, enquiring and independent learners who fulfil their academic potential
The complete policy is available on request from the General Office of the Junior School
