Fantastic Football Trip! BBC Young Reporter

Girls Football Trip sees Northern Ireland 9-0 Victory

On Monday the 29th November, the PE department took 55 girls to the World Cup Qualifying game to see Northern Ireland women’s team vs North Macedonia. We were delighted when they won by a whopping 9:0!

A big congrats to Liverpool's Rachel Furness on becoming top all-time scorer. Rachel scored twice in the 9-0 victory, surpassing David Healy as the country's all time leading scorer with 38 goals!

This victory moves Northern Ireland into second in Group D, behind leaders England.

Lauren, from 8OB said “The match was brilliant!” and Grace from 8MB said “The match was great and the goals were absolutely amazing! We had such a great night.”

It was a tremendous trip. We hope we brought good luck to the team. We even got given a teddy from the sponsors of the match.
