On Monday 27th January, the Saphara Be the Change team travelled to St Malachy's in Belfast for our second workshop. The students worked together in their groups, discussing what they considered to be a good life and explored how this can look very different for the young people in India who Saphara work with. The topic of 'Home' was also explored and the students began to understand the reasons people may flee their homes, even if that means putting themselves and their loved ones into further danger.
Preparations began for the Newcomer Event in June, where the groups will host primary school children at Stranmillis University, with lots of fun activities being developed, requiring the students to consider how they communicate with and to one another. We were delighted to be presented with Education Director Paula's delicious chocolate brownies for being the first team with all Initial Surveys completed.
The team are looking forward to continuing their fundraising over the coming weeks and months and we will keep you updated with their progress.
