ICT

Curriculum vision

The ICT department in Parkhall Integrated College seeks to enable our students to achieve their highest academic potential and to develop their practical, social and personal skills with the support of ICT. We aim to ensure students develop an appreciation of the central role that ICT plays in our society both in the world of work and leisure.

Key stage 3

The ICT department aims to introduce students to the latest software during discrete ICT lessons. All work that students complete can be found on Google Classroom.

Key stage 4

At key stage 4 the ICT department aims to provide courses that are tailored to all students’ abilities. The following courses are currently offered to key stage 4 students:

  • Edexcel BTEC Level 2 Information Creative Technology
  • CCEA Occupational Studies (CCEA)

Key stage 5

At key stage 5 the ICT department offers students a course in Cambridge Technicals ICT. The course consists of 5 units of work which include 2 exam units and 3 portfolio units.

Extra-curricular

The ICT department has strong links with local ICT businesses and organisations which support the taught curriculum throughout the year.
