Facility hire

In January 2018, Parkhall Integrated College moved into a new state-of-the-art accommodation. This £20-million-pound investment has provided the college with excellent facilities for students and staff. Each classroom is equipped with new technology, including interactive panels, which enhances the teaching and learning opportunities. Our sporting provision has been enhanced by an AstroTurf facility, five tennis courts, two indoor sports halls and a fitness suite. The extensive teaching provision is also supplemented by the inclusion of a youth and community wing.

Parkhall Integrated College opens its doors to the benefit of the community with a range of facilities available for hire. This is part of our commitment and support for our local community. Demand for the facilities can be high, and we are fortunate to have a range of community groups and several local sports organisations using the premises on a regular basis.

Facilities and Rates of Hire

*Community Rate

  • Community rate applies to a user making a booking application when the user meets the qualifying criteria, which are:
    • To be a constituted group; and
    • Have charitable status.
  • The community rate may also be applied to a not-for-profit group who, whilst not constituted or registered as a charity, exist only for community benefit, and do not generate an income or levy charges to clients/customers, for personal benefit. Standard rate applies to users making a booking application where they do not qualify for the community rate. It is intended that most sporting organisations/local clubs do not qualify for the community rate. The decision of the school is final.

Assembly Hall

  • The assembly hall is not for heavy sports use such as football/basketball etc.
  • The assembly hall may incur a VAT fee depending on usage. For example, if it used as sporting facility or the hirer requires certain equipment. If necessary this will be discussed during the booking process in advance of any agreement.

Useful Information

  • Discount may apply for block bookings of 10 or more – sporting facilities only.
  • The above rates do not include equipment such as computers etc.
  • Changing facilities are not available. If you require such, please contact the school to discuss your needs. Additional costs may apply.
  • All persons hiring the school must provide the school with a copy of their current public liability insurance documents. The public liability insurance must be valid for the duration of the hire.
  • The school reserves the right to refuse and/or cancel any bookings without notice. Under normal circumstances, you will be notified as far in advance as is possible to any changes in your booking.
  • In the event of unforeseen circumstances, priority is given to the school timetable and Educational Authority activities such as youth clubs.
  • The school reserves the right to amend the above rates if need be.

Block Bookings

A discount may apply due to VAT exemption. This is for sports facilities only. The facilities must be booked out to a school, club, association, or an organisation representing affiliated clubs or constituent associations, such as a local league. VAT exemption does not apply to commercial sports tuition.

To qualify for VAT exemption, you must make sure that your booking meets all the following rules. These rules are laid down by the government and cannot be changed.

  • The booking consists of ten or more consecutive dates
  • Each booking is for the same sport.
  • Each booking is in the same place. This condition is still met when a different pitch/court is used (or a different number of pitches/courts) as long as these are at the same location.
  • The gap between each session is at least one day but not more than 14 days (for a gap to be at least one day, 24 hours must elapse between the start of each booking). The length of the bookings may be different on different dates. There is no exception for gaps greater than 14 days, including when the facility is closed for any reason (such as the Christmas period).
  • All bookings must be paid for in full before the start of the booking. You cannot change VAT-exempt bookings once they have been paid for, so you must make sure the dates and times are right for you.
  • The booking is to be paid for as a whole, and there is written evidence to the fact. The right to use the facility for any specific booking may not actually be exercised. Provision for a refund given by the provider in the event of the unforeseen non-availability of their facility would not affect this condition.
  • The person to whom the facilities are booked has exclusive use of them during the bookings.
