Parkhall Integrated College recognises that there is an important connection between a healthy diet and a student’s ability to learn effectively and achieve their full potential.
A very successful Breakfast Club operates throughout the year from 8:15 – 8:55. To encourage all students to start the day with a good healthy breakfast, the school subsidises the club keeping the cost down for our students. For 50p students enjoy cereal and/or toast with tea or breakfast juice. Where we can, we make this free in the winter months.
Breaktime is split into two sessions:
Breaktime normally offers a range of food such as warm ham & cheese baguettes, toast, bagels, scones, potato bread and juices or milkshakes.
Lunch is split into three sessions:
At lunch a wider selection of hot food is available, for example chicken curry pasta bake, pizza, bolognese, stew, soup, roast dinner and baked potato. There is a salad bar where students can order a plated salad or alternatively a chicken, tuna, or ham salad wrap. The 'Grab and Go' counter has sandwiches, filled baguettes, paninis, homemade biscuits and drinks. Yogurts and fresh fruit are also available.
Some students bring a packed lunch. These are eaten at the back of the assembly hall. Please note we are a nut-aware school. To keep everyone safe, please do not send nuts or products containing nuts into college for break or lunch. This includes spreads, such as 'Nutella'
