Following assemblies from the Year 13 Saphara Be the Change team, on Friday 10th March the sixth form had a non-uniform day and the team held a whole school bake sale and raffle to continue with their fundraising efforts. Having already raised £1200 from their Sponsored Abseil at the end of February, the team have set their target even higher than before. Every penny raised by our team goes directly to Saphara, who work alongside their six partner schools in India, providing education to children from some of the most marginalised communities. £100 provides a child with education for a full year, and our aim is that we could provide up to 20 children with that education, which without Saphara they would not have access to.
With buns selling out by the end of break-time, the students will continue to sell raffle tickets for our ‘Mother’s Day hamper’ at the beginning of next week for anyone who didn’t manage to purchase one today due to the snow. The team would like to say a massive thank you to all staff and students who donated and purchased some of our delicious treats, with a special mention to Bushes’ bakery for their donation of the ever popular caramel squares.
