On Friday 2 teams took part in the IFA School Girls Futsal competition. The year 10/11 team competed against 6 other schools in a league type system and came away with 3 wins and 3 narrow defeats. They showed great determination and teamwork and did the school proud when faced against some top opposition!

Our 8/9 team started their competition with a 3-0 defeat to Lurgan High but with a change in formation the girls won their next 2 group games by scoring 9 goals and conceding none. They played Glengormley Integrated in the semi final which was a very tight game until Grace and Ella scored 2 quick goals in the last minute to send us to the final. The final was played against Dominican College and again was a tight match but the girls determination saw them keep another clean sheet and win the match 2-0!

Both teams did fantastic considering the majority of the girls had never played Futsal before which was made even better that one of our teams won their section! The girls are looking forward to more competitions throughout the year.
